My recycling bin

In Norfolk, we collect your rubbish one week and your recycling the next week.

All recycling must be:

  • Clean. Please rinse containers and do not leave in any food leftovers
  • Dry. Please do not put liquids in your recycling bin
  • Loose. Please do not put anything in plastic bags or bin liners 

Check what can be recycled

Paper and cardboard items

  • Cardboard
  • Catalogues 
  • Envelopes including envelopes with windows 
  • Greeting cards
  • Leaflets
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Packaging card
  • Paper 
  • Pizza boxes. These must be clean without food residue left inside.
  • Junk mail without the plastic wrapping
  • Shredded paper
  • Telephone books
  • Wrapping paper. This must be clean and without tape, ribbons and glitter.

 

Metal, tin and metallic items

  • Aluminium cans and tins
  • Aluminium foil
  • Empty aerosol cans. No paint aerosols.
  • Foil trays and containers. These must be clean.
  • Steel cans and tins

 

Plastic containers

  • Bathroom bottles. Keep the lids on. This includes trigger and pump spray bottles.
  • Cream pots
  • Drink bottles. Keep the lids on.
  • Food trays and ready meal trays
  • Fruit punnets
  • Ice cream tubs
  • Margarine tubs
  • Milk bottles. Keep the lids on.
  • Ready meal trays
  • Soup pots
  • Toothpaste tubes
  • Vegetable punnets
  • Yoghurt pots

 

Cartons

  • Fruit juice cartons
  • Soup and food cartons
  • Milk cartons

 

Glass

  • Bottles. Keep any lids on.
  • Jars. Keep the lids on.
